Investigators & mentors

People who help
questions grow.

A research team spanning cryptography, quantum information, coding theory, and distributed computation—with shared support for your development as a researcher.

Principal Investigator · Site Director

Daniel Alabi

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Leads the secure communications thrust and the overall program. His research connects algorithms, privacy, cryptography, and information theory. He oversees project integration, recruitment, and the student research experience.

Co-Principal Investigator

Eric Chitambar

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Leads the distributed quantum consensus thrust and shares program leadership. He mentors research on quantum information, communication, position verification, and nonlocal computation.

Faculty Mentor · Coding Thrust Lead

Olgica Milenkovic

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Leads projects on quantum error correction, noise models, and decoding. Her mentoring connects coding and information theory with exact enumeration, algorithm design, and reproducible computation.

Faculty Mentor

Milad Marvian

University of New Mexico

Contributes expertise in quantum information theory, control, error correction, and distributed quantum processing. His program mentoring spans position verification, consensus, and quantum error correction.

A team around every student

Support beyond
the research meeting.

Near-peer mentors

Graduate students and postdoctoral researchers will support project work, scientific programming, and the day-to-day practice of research. Individual assignments will be shared with the cohort.

Program coordination

Dr. Natasha Mamaril coordinates applicant communications and program logistics, including scheduling, housing, travel, and student-support arrangements.
